Forest Days at Road Less Travelled Academy are full-day programs complimenting a student's classroom or homeschool learning with outdoor exploration. Students spends one day per week in a six week session in the Ganaraska Forest, participating in various activities including bushcraft, survival skills, tracking, tree/animal identification, natural arts and wild edibles.
More importantly, the students are immersed in a full day of shelter making, flower sniffing, worm digging, tree-climbing, and friend-making. They will come home happy, tired, and inspired. Children will be encouraged to take calculated risks that will help them strengthen their self-awareness, confidence and decision-making skills.
Forest Day students will share their day with RLTAcademy's full-time students, allowing for group partnering to enrich both programs. The curriculum is designed to engage children 4-9 years old. All lunches and snacks are provided.
Program days are:
April 5, 12, 26
May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
