Forest Days

Forest Days at Road Less Travelled Academy are full-day programs complimenting a student's classroom or homeschool learning with outdoor exploration. Students spends one day per week in an 8-10 week session at the Ganaraska Forest, participating in various activities including bushcraft, survival skills, tracking, plant and animal identification, natural arts, and wild edibles.

More importantly, the students are immersed in a full day of dirt-digging, worm-picking, mud-skipping, tree-climbing, butterfly-chasing, and friend-making.  They will come home dirty, tired, happy and inspired. Children will be encouraged to take calculated risks helping them strengthen self-awareness, confidence and decision-making skills.

Forest Day students will share their day with RLT Academy's full-time students, allowing for group partnering to enrich both programs.  The curriculum is designed to engage children 4 - 12 years old.
